February 24: Karnataka’s Ruhan Komandur emerged as Runner-up in the singles category of the under-14 championship series in Punjab.
Undeterred by the tough cold conditions, the 12-year-old Ruhan Komandur emerged as runner up in the finals against the local favourite and top seed Sumukh Marya 6-2 6-4. This tournament was held in Roots Tennis Academy, Zirakpur, Punjab. The Bishop cotton boys school student from Bengaluru in his run up to the finals won all matches in straight sets.
Previous to this tournament, Ruhan won the singles finals in Gujarat and emerged as a finalist in Karnataka of the AITA Championship series Under-12 boys singles tournament.
